General information only, not professional advice
Everything published on AI Build South Africa (aibuild.co.za, including all guides, code samples, interactive tools and related content, collectively the "Site") is for general information and education only. Nothing here is legal advice, compliance advice, security advice or any other form of regulated professional advice.
Our guides help you connect a South African payment gateway, point a domain at a live app, or understand a POPIA requirement. They're a starting point for your own implementation and testing, not a substitute for a qualified professional's review.
Payment processing, data compliance and production deployment are fact-specific. The right approach for your situation depends on your platform, your actual data flows and the exact regulations in force when you act: variables no general guide can fully account for. Always verify against the provider's own documentation and consult a qualified professional before relying on anything here in production.
No compliance or POPIA advice
Content covering the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) reflects our understanding of the legislation as at the date stated on each guide. POPIA compliance depends on what personal information you actually collect, how you process it and your specific technical setup, none of which a general guide can fully assess. Our guides, including the POPIA Compliance Checker tool, are a starting point for thinking about compliance, not a compliance audit or legal opinion.
Consult the Information Regulator's own guidance, or a qualified attorney, for a compliance opinion on your specific system.
No security advice
Guides covering webhook verification, API integration and backend configuration reflect good practice as we understand it at the time of writing, not a security audit of your specific implementation. Payment integration and API security carry real financial and data risk if done wrong. Test every integration in the platform's own sandbox environment before going live, and have a security-competent person review anything that touches payment data or personal information before it reaches production.
Accuracy of information
We work hard to keep every guide accurate and current, and every fee, threshold and rate we quote is dated and sourced in the sentence it appears in. Despite that, we make no warranty, express or implied, as to the accuracy, completeness or fitness for purpose of any content on the Site. Payment gateways, AI platforms and South African regulations all change without notice, sometimes faster than any independent guide can track. If you spot a figure or step that looks wrong or outdated, contact us. We investigate and correct verified errors promptly.
Limitation of liability
AI Build South Africa, its owner, contributors and affiliates accept no liability whatsoever for any loss or damage, financial, legal, security-related or otherwise, arising directly or indirectly from your use of, or reliance on, any content, tool output or information on the Site. This includes but isn't limited to payment processing errors, failed webhooks, POPIA or other regulatory non-compliance, security incidents and any consequential or indirect damages.
Your use of the Site is entirely at your own risk. By using any guide or tool on the Site, you acknowledge that its output is based on the inputs you provide and our understanding of the platforms and regulations in effect at the time of publication, and that no warranty is made as to its accuracy or applicability to your specific situation.
Affiliate and referral disclosure
The Site participates in affiliate and referral programmes, including with Hostinger and Base44. Some links on the Site, including the Hostinger banner in the footer, may earn AI Build South Africa a commission or referral reward if you sign up or make a purchase through them, at no extra cost to you. This commercial relationship never influences which platform, gateway or tool a guide recommends, or how a guide describes its strengths and limitations. Where a link on the Site is a paid affiliate or referral link, it is marked as such at the point it appears.
External links
The Site links to external websites, including payment gateway documentation, platform docs and government resources such as the Information Regulator. Those links are there for convenience and reference only. AI Build South Africa doesn't control the content of external sites and accepts no responsibility for its accuracy, currency or legality. A link doesn't mean we endorse the organisation or service behind it.
Data and privacy
Where the Site offers interactive tools, including the planned PayFast Webhook Generator and POPIA Compliance Checker, those tools are designed to run entirely in your browser. Any code, configuration or compliance answers you enter are processed on your own device and are not transmitted to or stored on our servers. Our use of analytics data is governed by our Privacy Policy and subject to the POPIA consent choice you make on your first visit.
Not affiliated with the platforms we write about
AI Build South Africa is an independent resource. We're not endorsed by, or an official partner of, PayFast, Yoco, Peach Payments, Ozow, Meta/WhatsApp, Lovable, Base44, Bolt.new, Anthropic, Hostinger or xneelo. We do participate in affiliate and referral programmes with some of these providers, including Hostinger and Base44. See our Disclaimer for the full disclosure. Product names and trademarks belong to their respective owners and are used only to describe what our guides cover.
Bottom line: AI Build South Africa gives you free integration guides and tools for South African developers building on AI website platforms. We work hard to keep it all accurate and current, but we're not your security auditor, compliance officer or attorney, and no guide replaces advice from one. Test in a sandbox, verify against the provider's own docs, and consult qualified professionals before relying on anything here in production.
